What I got for Christmas 2016

This is most of what I got for Christmas. I will leave links to everything I can, but as they are gift I’m not sure where everything is from. I hope you had a great holiday.

New Years Resolutions

In a few days it will be 2017, which means it’s the time of year to create resolutions that are usually broken within a few days of making them. This year I have decided to compile a list of things I would like to do and as long as I at least attempt to do everything on the list I will consider it a success. So without further ado here is my 2017 list:

  1. Start working out again
  2. Get out more
  3. Try to come out of your shell a bit. People and just the world in general can be scary, but life is more fun when you stop hiding.
  4. Do more of the things that make me happy. Even when things get hectic!
  5. Reach 100 followers on my blog
  6. Graduate high school. Almost there!
  7. Try new things
  8. Post more often
  9. Learn to play an instrument well. Meaning strumming two cords out of tune doesn’t count.
  10. Spend more time with family and friend’s
  11. Try to be less negative. Smile:)

These are most of the things I wanna try to do in 2017. I’m sure I’ll find more things that I want to do and accomplish in 2017, but for now this is it. Hopefully this year I stick to my resolutions, of course only time will tell. If you have any resolutions I wish you the best of luck with them and Happy New Year!

Gift Wrapping Ideas

img_2065For these two I wrapped them in brown wrapping paper than used white spray paint to give them a design. Once they dried I decorated them with twine, raffia, little silver balls, and chalkboard labels.

img_1979img_1992I saw this idea and immediately fell in love with it. Using chalkboard paper or a solid colored paper that you can write on, wrap the present, then use the paper as the card. Simple, but really cute! After that I finished it off with some twine and a candy cane.

img_2010img_2022img_2051For the last one I took some old fabric I had laying around and tore along the side of it to create ribbon. Of course you can also buy ribbon, but if you have some extra fabric laying around it can be a good way to save a little bit of money.

Hope you like the post and happy holidays!🎄

DIY Presents

Pick a plant of your choice and use whatever stones and anything else you like to decorate it. Make sure you have enough soil for the plant though

Hot Chocolate Ordaments

What you will need:

-Hot chocolate

-Toppings of your choice

  1. To start off plan what order you want everything to be in and make sure to rinse out your ordaments. I suggest starting with the hot chocolate and working your way up.
  2. Before putting anything in the ordaments place them in cupcake liners, this is optional, but it helps hold them in place while your pouring.
  3. Next add your ingredients in layers and your done

Cookies in a Jar

-Chalkboard label

-Recipe and ingriedients of your choice

  1. To start off find a clean jar and make sure it will fit the recipe you have chosen.
  2. Next add the dry ingredients in the recipe in layers. Start off with the flours and sugars and put things like chocolate chips toward the top.
  3. Close the jar and write out what they will need to add and how to cook it on a label or piece of paper.

Bath salts

-Epsom salt

-Essential oil of your choice

-Food dye(optional)

-Air tight bottle

-Twine for decoration(optional)

  1. Pour two cups Epsom salt into a bowl.
  2. Add 10-15 drops of essential oil to the salt and mix well. The amount can vary depending on how strong your essential oil is.
  3. Add one drop of food coloring and slowly build up the color. You don’t want to add to much as to much moisture can cause the salt to harden. (This step is optional)
  4. Pour into jar, decorate if desired, and your done.

I always struggle with picking out gifts for people, but I love these DIYs because they work well as gifts for a number of people. I hope you liked this post and found it helpful:)
