My Fall Essentials

fullsizeoutput_791Most of my fall essentials are just things to keep me warm as I hate the cold.  Though the cold is almost worth it when I get to see the trees change color, it’s unbelievably beautiful. This will be my first Fall and Winter to get colder than the 40s in about six years, so I’ll be hiding under under blankets for the next few weeks. I am loving Fall decoration and fashion though.

fullsizeoutput_794Makeup Essentials:

Too Faced Born This Way Foundation- I like to wear as little makeup as possible, but in the winter my skin looks red and just all around not great, so foundation is a must for me.

Maybelline Fit Me Concealer- I use this for my under eyes and I absolutely love it. I don’t use it for my spots because it causes me to break out really badly, but other than that it’s an affordable concealer that works really well. The only bad thing about this product is they never have my shade at any of the stores that I go to, so I have to order it online if I want the right shade.

E.L.F. HD Setting Powder- When it’s cold outside I’m really bad about touching my face, so I need all the help I can get keeping my makeup in place.

fullsizeoutput_789Clothing:

Boots- Since it apparently snows where I’m living right now my usual canvas shoes aren’t going to cut it. I actually got these at Charles and Keith awhile back, but it was always so hot where I was I did not want to wear them, but now I get the chance to.

Scarfs and Sweaters- The more layers the better during fall. It just started getting cold where I live and I’m already wearing three layers every-time I go out.

Hoodie- I can’t stress enough how much I hate the cold, so anything to keep me warm will be a favorite of mine. I’m seriously considering getting an electric blanket.

Sweatpants- I currently only have one pair that I bought off amazon cause I had no warm clothing and I wear them constantly. I think it’s time to buy another pair.

Face Masks- My skin gets really dry during fall and winter, so I try to give it extra attention this time of year.

Books- Most of my free time during fall is spent under lots of blankets, reading, and drinking something warm.

3 Easy Costume Ideas

Every year when October rolls around I come up with so many ideas for what costume I should wear and I can’t decide, so I end up throwing something together last minute.

Pirate:

Makeup- Heavy eyeshadow, lots of mascara, paired with a matte lip.

Outfit- I used a scarf from H&M and tied it to make a top. I paired it with boots from Rue21 and a black skirt. For accessories I wore a necklace made from coins, a double stud earring with a cuff from hot topic, and a silver hoop earring. Pirate Pics 1fullsizeoutput_93bfullsizeoutput_9ef

A Unicorn:

Makeup- I went for a natural look. A bit of foundation to even out my skin and a pink lip.

Outfit- I bought a unicorn horn off Amazon, but you can purchase one almost anywhere. I wore a white dress, a chocker that my grandma Linda gave me and candles. If you live somewhere cold a white jacket and jeans look just as cute. 3 costume ideashalloween costume 13 Costume Ideas UnicornHalloween coustume 1.jpgfullsizeoutput_9f0

The Night: This is the easiest costume, but be prepared to answer the question what are you dressed as the whole night.

Makeup- Smokey eye, black lip, and anti highlight.

Outfit- Just wear all black. I wore black leggings, a hoodie, and paired it with a pair of black boots.last minute halloween costumes

Daiso Haul

fullsizeoutput_768When I lived in Asia I used to love going to the Daiso, but when I moved back to the states their weren’t any. When I heard that the Diaso was now in the states I was really excited and wanted to go immediately. It looked and smelled just like the one I used to go to and honestly made me miss Asia a bit. It used to be that everything their was two dollars and I’m not sure if it’s because tax or shipping, but the prices tend to vary a bit more here. Most of the stuff I got was two dollars, but I got one item that was four.

fullsizeoutput_777fullsizeoutput_769I got this to use as a makeup bag. I’m not really sure if that is it’s intended use, as I can’t speak whatever language was on the tag, but it works really well as one.

fullsizeoutput_76afullsizeoutput_776I got a few things for my office. The first thing I got was these really cute gold paper clips that say love. I also got folders to help keep organized. I know it’s no longer summer, but the gold pineapples were so cute I decided to get the folder anyway.

fullsizeoutput_773I don’t have a lot of fall or winter clothes, so I got this hat. It was only four dollars and I thought it would be a good idea to have one as it snows in the winter where I currently live. I have been looking for a hat like this for about a year and a half and I guess I was looking in the wrong places. Now I really want winter to come so I can wear this hat, but at the same time I hate the cold and wish it would be warm year round.

No-Carve Pumpkin Ideas

fullsizeoutput_72eCarving pumpkins has always been a big deal in my family. The older my siblings and I became the more intricate the designs became. Unfortunately I am allergic to pumpkins. As of early last year all my siblings have moved out, leaving no one to carve pumpkins, so I needed a new idea. I decided to do no-carve pumpkins; it was a way to still decorate pumpkins without it ending with hives. I basically just paint and glue stuff to pumpkins instead of carving them. I did this last year and I really liked how they turned out, so I decided to do it again this year.

The Confetti Pumpkin:

Supplies:

  1. Confetti
  2. White Paint
  3. Glue or Mod Podge
  4. A Pumpkin

Instructions:

  1. I painted all the pumpkins I bought white and let them dry overnight. It took two coats of paint.
  2. Glue the confetti to the pumpkin. Their is no real technique for this, but I found doing one layer, waiting for it to dry, then doing another layer of confetti worked the best.

Unicorn Pumpkin:

Supplies:

  1. Glue
  2. Glitter (two different colors)
  3. Hot Glue Gun
  4. White Paint
  5. Paper
  6. Black Acrylic Paint or Black Paint Marker
  7. Foam sheets, the color doesn’t matter
  8. Pink Jewels (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Paint your pumpkin white

2. Cut four triangles out of the foam sheets. Two big and two small, the size of them should depend on the size of your pumpkin. You will also need to cut out this weird sort of triangle shape from paper; it will be the horn. fullsizeoutput_72b

3. Cover the ears and horn in glitter. I made the big triangles gold and the smaller ones silver. fullsizeoutput_727

4. Once dry, glue the triangles together. Roll the horn and glue it using the hot glue.

5. Using hot glue attach the horn and ears to your pumpkin.

6. Using black paint or a paint marker, paint the eyes and mouth. fullsizeoutput_728

7. This step is optional, but I took some pink jewels and glued them on to give my unicorn rosie cheeks. fullsizeoutput_731fullsizeoutput_73a

Melting Silver Pumpkin:

All you need for this one is white paint, metallic paint, and a paint brush. Then just take your metallic paint and drip it down the sides of your pumpkin. Use the brush to paint the top of your pumpkin. This one is definitely the easiest. No-carve pumpkin ideasfullsizeoutput_737
