TOULON Dead Sea Mud Mask Review

I started breaking out a little over a week ago and it hasn’t been getting better. I bought this mask a few weeks ago and just haven’t gotten around to trying it, but now seems like a good time. It’s pure mud so it doesn’t smell the best, but on the plus side you know it’s all natural. Before putting it on my face I put it on my arm, waited 10 minutes, washed it off, and waited to make sure I didn’t have any reaction or irritation. I was surprised by how well it worked. I’ve only used it once and I already see a slight difference. The biggest plus is it didn’t irritate my skin. I’m going to use it once a week for the next three weeks to see how well it works.fullsizeoutput_6da

I’ve been using it for two weeks now and I love it so far. When it dries you can see the oil from your pores and it makes my skin feel so good. I have noticed a slight difference and I’m hoping my skin keeps improving. fullsizeoutput_6db

It has now been three weeks and I absolutely love this mask. I have really bad acne on my right cheek and when I first put on the mask it would sting a little in that area, but it didn’t leave any redness or anything. I have seen some improvement in my skin and will continue using this mask. To me the improvement I saw was definitely worth the eleven bucks I paid. I would rebuy this product, it of course didn’t completely clear up my acne, but I wouldn’t expect one face mask to. fullsizeoutput_6d9

Beauty Products Mini Haul+Review

fullsizeoutput_61b.jpegSomehow whenever I go to get just a few things from the store I end up leaving with way more then I planned. I recently needed to get more concealer and walked out with notebooks and a few beauty products. Since I got some new products I decided to try them and do a quick review.fullsizeoutput_61aIMG_6291IMG_6302 Translucent Powder- E.L.F. has really good prices and so when I’m at the store I think it’s only $5, or something around their I can totally afford it, and then I walk out with a bunch of makeup products that I don’t need. I’ve never used a translucent powder before this one. I wasn’t a huge fan of the powder, maybe it’s because I’ve never used it before, but it made the concealer under my eyes feel a bit cakey.fullsizeoutput_617IMG_6299Usually by the end of the day I have more eyeshadow under my eyes then on my eyelids and truth be told I didn’t think setting spray would help, but I was very wrong. On the first day I tried this I was running around, I was taking pictures outside, finishing some things for school, basically just sweating and really testing this product out. After running around all day I checked my makeup and their was a little mascara under my eyes, but everything else was still in place. I was really surprised by how well this product worked, especially for he price. This will be going into my everyday makeup routine. fullsizeoutput_633.jpegDry Shampoo- So while I was walking up and down the isles at the drug store I saw this, it’s a little bottle of dry shampoo. I’ve been looking for a really good dry shampoo and decided to try this one out. It works really well. It gave my hair a lot of volume and it didn’t leave white streaks or specks after using it like a lot of dry shampoos. By the end of the day my hair was looking oily again, but I just put a little more in and the problem was fixed. Their is down side which is it smells like hairspray. This is the first dry shampoo I’ve used that smells like hairspray, usually they have a scent, but the smell did fade a bit after a few minutes. Besides the smell this is one of the best dry shampoos I have used. fullsizeoutput_619

Ardell Individuals Eyelashes Review

fullsizeoutput_601fullsizeoutput_5e7I suck at applying false lashes, but I decided to try individuals because I was told that they can be easier to apply. These went on so easily; I was completely shocked. I put four on each eye and you can’t really tell that I’m wearing falsies. They definitely give me fuller looking lashes and are great for an everyday look. I asked my parents if they could tell I was wearing flashes and they had no idea. The other thing I was surprised by was how comfortable they were, I took them off a few hours before I took off my makeup just because I was just sitting in front of my computer at home and when I went to take off the rest of my eye makeup I still had one of them on(at first I just thought my lashes were falling off and freaked out a bit).

Eye lash reivew 4eyelash review 5eyelash Review 2They do not come with glue, so you will need to purchase it separately, I just used my E.L.F. eyelash glue and it worked perfectly. I really cannot tell you just how easy these were to apply, I now want to try more from this brand.

Biore Deep Cleansing Pore Strip Review

fullsizeoutput_53dfullsizeoutput_541I’ve only used two other pore strips before this, but I’m trying to take really good care of my skin and decided to try these out. The strips are easy to use and since they only stick when their’s water it makes for an easy application.

Before:fullsizeoutput_514After:fullsizeoutput_51afullsizeoutput_51dfullsizeoutput_51ffullsizeoutput_520.jpegMy brother is in town for awhile, so I’m making him my test dummy for a while. He’s a great brother to actually let me test these on him and the results were pretty good. my brother had a few pimples on his nose, those were popped before I placed the strip on his nose for better application. The instructions were easy to follow, but it didn’t pull as much out as other strips. His nose is a little red in the after picture, because I took it right after he used the strip, but the redness went away after a little while. Their is definitely a difference in his skin and in all fairness he doesn’t take incredible care of his skin, so over time using these their would be a bigger improvement.

fullsizeoutput_539fullsizeoutput_53bfullsizeoutput_533fullsizeoutput_537I also tried the strips after my brother, but not much came out of my nose. I was actually quite pleased by this, as I’ve been working so hard on my skin these past few weeks. I did notice a slight difference, my pores looked smaller and it also took off some dead skin. I have extremely sensitive skin and the strips didn’t cause any irritation, so that is a huge win for me.

I would rate this a 7/10 it’s a good product and if I could change one thing I would make it slightly bigger, so it went on my cheeks as well as my nose. Also it didn’t seem to get the blackheads on the side of the nose very well. They were almost their, but I won’t be purchasing them again. I still like this company and will be trying some of their other pore strips. These particular strips aren’t for me, but if you only a few blackheads, it will probably work really well for you.

Elf Product Review

fullsizeoutput_485fullsizeoutput_491I have tried a few e.l.f. products before, but I was at the drugstore and decided to test a few more out. E.l.f. has great prices, so if their products end up working well that would be a huge win. I did a review of one of their eyeshadow pallets here.fullsizeoutput_482fullsizeoutput_492fullsizeoutput_484Illuminating Palette: For the price this product isn’t bad, but it isn’t something I would reach for on daily basis. The highlight isn’t bad, but the palette doesn’t have great pigmentation. It looked nice, you just have to use more than you think to get it to show up well. fullsizeoutput_490Everyday Lash Collection: I didn’t like these falsies. I won’t pretend to be great at applying false lashes, but I could not get these to stay. No matter how much glue I put on it was not going to stay. I like the look of the lashes, just use a different eye lash glue. The pack came with two different eyelashes, but I only got the ones in the picture to work. They also come with a pair of tweezers to help you apply the lashes. fullsizeoutput_47dMolten Liquid eyeshadow: The color is actually really nice. I’m thinking about getting the gold one as well because I think it will be perfect for Christmas and winter in general. It blends really easily and keeps its color. I don’t use glittery eyeshadow often because I end up with it all over my face by the end of the day, but this stays in place while still giving you a little sparkle. I was worried that the eyeshadow wouldn’t blend well, but I had no problems. It blended easily and was buildable, probably my favorite product from this haul!fullsizeoutput_47cConcealer: I got this in ivory and was worried about the shade when I opened it. I almost didn’t try it because it looked to dark for my skin tone, but once I blended it, the color matched my skin really well. I’ve never used a concealer like this one before and I was pleasantly surprised. It has a creamy texture and blends easily. It hides blemishes well and it does help with dark circles though I like to using something lighter to brighten up under my eyes. I think I’ll be using this more often to cover up my blemishes. I’ll especially be using this during the summer as it looks really natural.fullsizeoutput_47aConcealer on left and liquid eyeshadow on the right

Too Faced Fool For Love Review

fullsizeoutput_23cfullsizeoutput_23dfullsizeoutput_23eFool For Love is Too Faced limited collection that they released for April fools. The collection includes some special edition items and classics like their Better than Sex Mascara. I love too faced, their packaging and products are beautiful and everything that I’ve used from them has worked really well. The set includes Funfetti Love Flush blush, Funfetti Mocha Freeze Lip Gloss, a blush brush, and a travel sized Better Than Sex Mascara. The whole set only costs $30 and considering just the blush would usually cost $3o it is a really good deal. I’m saving up to move out so I try to find deals on, well everything, and I rarely buy makeup because how expensive it can get; of course this is a really good deal and this much makeup would usually cost about double.

fullsizeoutput_239fullsizeoutput_238I struggle with blush, it either looks to pink, to orange, or you just can’t see it, but this has a really nice pigmentation. You only need a little, it goes on without much effort, and it stayed on really well. It just gives a little color to my cheeks and a slight glow. It is easy to put to much on, so its best to start with a little and build it up if it’s not enough.

fullsizeoutput_24bI’m not entirely sure why they put a brush into the collection. The brush is cute, soft, and works ok. I probably won’t be using this brush except maybe when I travel.

fullsizeoutput_237fullsizeoutput_22eI have really small lips, so not many colors look good on me, this however did. It goes on really smoothly and since its a lip gloss the color was more faint then like a liquid lipstick. It is lipgloss so it won’t stay on as long as a lot of lip product, but you don’t have to reapply every few minutes, so it’s pretty good.

fullsizeoutput_242fullsizeoutput_24dThe mascara was absolutely incredible. Mascara is one of my favorite things in makeup and I’ve been wanting to try this one for about a year, it was definitely worth the wait! It goes on really easily and makes my lashes look full and longer. Another advantage is it’s actually black; a lot of mascara are like a brown or a grey, which can be nice, but just hasn’t been what I was looking for. I’ve been using maybelline’s lash sensational mascara as my everyday mascara, but it is harder to apply, so I might be switching to this. By the end of the day their was a bit of the mascara under my eyes, it lasted about six or seven hours, and I’m usually only out for about four so I’m really happy with it.

When you make an online order you get two free samples so I got some foundation to see if I like it and some glitter glue.fullsizeoutput_232

Real Techniques Brush Review

Stippling brush: The brush works well and doesn’t leave streaks when you put on your foundation. I ended up really liking this brush and will continue to use it in my makeup routine. Of course this brush doesn’t hold up well and you have to be extremely careful when washing it.

Sculpting brush: It blends well and made contouring a bit easier. It’s meant to be used as a contouring brush, but can work as a foundation or finishing brush.

Angled highlighter brush: This brush is exclusive To certain holiday kits and is perfect for a more natural highlighter look and setting concealer under your eyes.

Lip brush: It worked well with most lip products, but it was difficult to use when I used any product with the same consistency as lipstick, and sometimes left streaks. It’s a decent brush, just not my first choice.

All the brushes were soft and worked fairly well. These are perfect starter brushes; their easy to use and inexpensive.

Elf Mad for Matte Palette Review

For the price these are good eyeshadows, but compared to too faced or Urban decay, their not as good. A problem I noticed is that even with eye primer, after about an hour I would have eyeshadow below my eye, and it also comes off really easily. If you are just getting into makeup elf is a great brand, its inexpensive, and is good quality especially for the price.

Their not as pigmented as I would have liked and you deficiently have to build the color, but the colors did blend pretty well. I mostly like it for filling in my eyebrows.

Five of my Favorite books

Plot: Wonderstruck is about a boy named Ben and a girl named Rose who are both looking for something. Ben starts looking for clues about his father, who he never knew and Rose dreams of an actress and keeps a scrapbook filled with her. Both children set off to find something. Ben’s story is told through words and Rosses through illustrations, but at the end of the book their stories come together.

I read Wonderstruck in seventh grade and fell in love with the book. Brian Selznick tells a story through his words and illustrations. I usually read it once every year and I enjoy it every time.

Mia Winchell has synesthesia, the mingling of perceptions whereby a person can see sounds, smell colors, or taste shapes. Forced to reveal her condition, she must look to herself to develop an understanding and appreciation of her gift in this coming-of-age novel.

I originally read this book for school, but ended up rereading it because of how much I enjoyed it. Mia struggles through the book with figuring out her synesthesia and dealing with preteen drama. It’s a great book for middle schoolers, but is still a good read for any age.

1200x630bfI’ll Be Yours

Plot: Harper is a teenager dealing with her bad past, her present, and her fears about the future. This YA novel is about letting go of some of your fears, the ups and downs of life, and first love.

I read this book quite recently thinking it was a light hearted teen novel, I was wrong. The book deals with more serious things like abuse and affairs. It is a really sweet love story, but it is quite sad.

fullsizeoutput_130Kissing Doorknobs

Plot: The book follows a girl named Tara Sullivan as she deals with OCD, from discovering what she has, to managing it. The book raises awareness and also gives you a glimpse of the daily struggles that someone with OCD has to deal with.

I read this book in middle school and it was the first book I read that I didn’t want to put down until I finished it. A family member of mine has OCD and reading this book helped me to understand some of what she deals with day to day and how difficult it can be.

everythingeverythingEverything Everything

Plot: Maddy is allergic to the world and cannot leave her house, but when a boy moves next door she begins to become more curious about the outside world.

The book encourages you to live life and shows you that some things are worth the risks. The book will make you laugh and probably cry. I highly recommend this book to anyone looking for a good read.

Neutrogena Light Therapy Acne Mask Review+How to Use

I’ve been struggling with moderate acne for about two years now and nothing has really worked to clear it up. Youtube kept playing the ad for this mask, so I decided to give it a try. When you buy the mask it comes with an activator. Each activator has thirty sessions and after that you have to buy a new one, which is something I didn’t like about it. I wish that each activator came with sixty sessions, that way you would only half to replace it every two months instead of every month. The company says this masks treats mild to moderate acne.

How to use:

  1. Connect the activator to the mask, each session lasts ten minutes. Use the mask once daily.
  2. Wash and dry your face before each session to remove oil and makeup.
  3. Put on the mask like you would a pair of glasses .
  4. Press and hold the power button for one second to begin your treatment.
  5. After ten minutes the mask will turn off automatically.
  6. After each session the number on the activator will go down and once it hits zero you half to purchase a new one.

The blue and red lights treats acne by reducing the bacteria. The blue light kills bacteria and the red light reduces inflammation. By reducing bacteria you reduce the appearance of acne on the skin. Of course since this mask only treats acne caused by bacteria it doesn’t work for everyone.

I have moderate acne and dry skin, the mask helped clear a lot of the acne on my forehead, but the acne I get from stress on the side of my face stayed the same. I liked how easy the product was to use and that it was easy to incorporate it into my daily routine, but it didn’t work as well as I hoped. I won’t be continuing use of this product, if it had worked really well I would have been happy to pay fifteen dollars a month, but for something that only slightly helped it isn’t worth it. Of course different people have different causes for their acne so it’s worth a try if you have thirty dollars, but that may be a bit much for a maybe.
